Procurement & Quality Assurance Officer

Description.

Easy Housing is looking for an experienced Procurement & Quality Assurance Officer. At Easy Housing, we provide sustainable, social and scalable housing in Uganda and other African countries. Our circular, biobased homes are affordable and store CO2. 

We are looking for a senior, hands-on professional to lead procurement, manage subcontractors, ensure quality, and be our clients' first point of contact when issues arise.

Job activities.

Procurement & Subcontractor Management

  • Sourcing and procuring construction materials in line with Easy Housing's quality and sustainability standards.

  • Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts and pricing.

  • Monitoring stock levels and coordinating timely delivery of materials.

  • Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation.

  • Identifying, onboarding and managing subcontractors (e.g. plumbers, electricians).

  • Coordinating subcontractor schedules and ensuring timely delivery of services.

  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor invoices in line with agreed scope and quality.

Quality Control

  • Conducting inspections of delivered materials and completed works against Easy Housing's specifications.

  • Identifying and resolving quality issues with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Maintaining quality control checklists and contributing to continuous improvement of processes.

Client After-Care

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients reporting post-completion issues.

  • Coordinating and overseeing timely resolution of after-care issues by the relevant subcontractors or internal team.

  • Travelling to client homes across Uganda to assess and follow up on reported issues.

  • Ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining a professional, caring relationship with homeowners.

Requirements.

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in procurement, construction project management, or a similar role.

  • Relevant diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, quality control, or a related field.

  • Experience with managing subcontractors and suppliers in a construction context.

  • Affinity with timber construction is a strong advantage; passion for sustainability is a must.

  • Strong organisational skills and a structured, detail-oriented way of working.

  • Proactive and hands-on attitude — comfortable taking ownership and working independently.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust with clients and contractors.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken — Luganda and/or Swahili is a plus.

  • Based in Kampala, with willingness to travel to project sites across Uganda.

Practical details.

  • Location office: Bugolobi, Kampala (office presence required).

  • Office presence: Monday to Friday from 9AM to 5:30PM.

  • Contract: full-time 1 year contract, 4 months probationary period.

  • Start: as soon as possible.

  • Team size: around 25 team members in Uganda and Kenya.
