Architecture Internship - Uganda
Description.
Easy Housing is looking for an Architecture Intern in Kampala! At Easy Housing, we provide sustainable, social and scalable housing in Uganda and Kenya. Our circular, biobased homes are affordable, store CO2, and create local jobs.
Internship Activities.
Working on the drawings for our standardised options
Working on timber house design concepts
Making site plans for clients and potentially also doing site visits
Making renders and 3D models
Working closely together with the other architects, projects managers and engineers
Coordinating technical drawings with internal and external consultants
Preparing architectural / engineering reports and progress narratives
Preparing construction detailing, developing and researching appropriate details
Requirements.
Student or recent graduate with relevant background, such as architecture, (building) engineering, building systems, or similar
Basic understanding of architectural design and construction principles
Experience in making technical drawings is required
Familiar with Archicad
Ability to use rendering softwares (like Lumion and/or Enscape) is a plus
Passion for sustainable design – familiarity with timber construction is a plus
Enjoys client interactions, for example during meetings and site visits
Internationally oriented and strong communication skills
Autonomous and intrinsically motivated, proactive and assertive mindset
Fluency in English, both written and verbally
Based in Kampala and able to commute to our office in Riverside

Practical details.
Location of office: Bugolobi, Kampala (office presence required)
Internship length: 4 months, full-time
Internship period: start as soon as possible
Supervision: daily team meetings to discuss activities. Regular supervisor meetings.
